Punch art Sunflower

This card was CASE'd (Copy & Share Everything) from Tami White.
Materials used: Stampin Up Small Oval punch (petals); SU Scallop Circle punch; SU Scallop Border punch; SU Large & Small Circle punches (layers in middle of sunflower); SU Vintage Vogue Stamp Set; SU Vintage Labels Stamp Set.

Punch art Owls on a branch

I saw these owls using various Stampin Up punches and just loved them. Although I only had a couple of the required punches, I was able to easily make do with what I had. As per the blog where I CASE'd the idea (click here to view Sarah Makin's design), I've also included a picture of the punches I used. I copied the first card almost completely, then came up with my own layout (square card).

This is another great way of using the Stampin Up Curly Label punch which I what I used to create the top of the owls head. Note Sarah Makin used a different punch for a similar effect. The 2 Stampin Up circle punches used were sizes 3.5cm and 1.3cm.

Punch art Tigerlily & Tiger

Okay, I definately bit off more than I could chew with this project. A good work friend asked me to design a baby card as her son and partner had a little girl last week. Bubby's name is 'Faith Tigerlilly' - Tiger because her son is crazy over tigers (the grrr type) and Lilly is a family name. Therefore I decided I would try to incorporate both themes ... there was my 1st mistake!

As time consuming as punch art is - I love it. It's cute and great for baby/kids cards however to make them reasonably quickly and easily - you need all the punches ... and there's mistake #2 - I don't have all the punches. So I adapted what I had and free drew shapes to create the tiger. Fiddly yet very cute I think. (The tiger design credit goes to Marie from Stamping Inspiration). Both websites credited in this post were random websites found doing a google search.

Speaking of which, after much searching for punch art lillies (and I'm talking hours), I found an online video tutorial (all credits go to Valita's Designs and Fresh Folds site). I won't explain how to make the lillies as the video is really good. After all this research, these tigerlillies are going to pop up on a few future cards! Anyway mistake #2 was repeated for the lillies as again I didn't have all the punches but made do with what I had.

Regardless of this, I'm really happy with it. Not a traditional baby card I know, but cute huh?

Side-step card

I decided to give these 'Side-Step cards' a go today. I had some pretty designer paper (non-Stampin Up) which I thought would be perfect for this fancy fold card. I was really happy with the final product.

The large red flower (attached to the last fold) was cut from the designer paper. I used the Stampin Up Large Circle and SU Circle Scallop punches for the flower, and the SU Small Oval punch for the leaves. SU Butterfly punch and SU 'Best Yet' stamp set for the words in the flower stamped with SU Riding Hood Red.

Stampin up - Vintage Vogue

Howdy all - hope you've had a superb Sunday. After cleaning the house, then taking the dogs on a bush walk, I've been a busy crafter today - inbetween basking in the sun and heading back inside to continue on with today's project.

A few weeks ago I posted some cards which I'd made for some work mates as some ladies asked to have a look. I'm pleased to say they got snapped up, however as my stocks are so low, so I'm making some more of the ones that were really popular. Even non-crafters appreciate how beautiful Stampin Ups Vintage Vogue stamp set is, and as this is one of my favourites, I was thrilled to pull it off the shelf first and have a play.

I used Stampin Up Vintage Vogue stamp set, SU Sage Shadow ink (green), SU Orchid Opulence (Purple), SU Night of Navy (Dark Blue). To get the textured coloured card, I used my Cuttlebug machine (just love that machine!!!).
