Josephs Coat Technique - Male birthday card

These pictures don't show how lovely this technique is. I came across an online demo of this technique and decided to give it a go. I challenged myself at the beginning of January that I was going to focus on male cards. Truth is I'm not good a male cards, it's hard to be inspired using the same colours etc.

This technique is basically an emboss resist type technique. I started with white card stock and sponged the background in various colours (must be light shades, 3-5 different colours max). Then I stamped the 'leaf' image using clear Versamark ink and used clear embossing powder and heat set the image. Then using the darker ink (navy) I sponged the navy over the entire card (including the leaf images). I then wiped off the ink over the leaves to reveal the multi-coloured sponging underneathe. The navy resisted the card due to the embossing. Simple but very effective.
